Welcome to the Central Region’s Web site!

The Central Region is not just an aggregation of schools but is a dynamic and complex learning community, where everyone has a role to play in the successful education of our students. Our Web site forms an important piece in our campaign to constantly improve communications within our learning community.

The Central Region encompasses diverse geographical and cultural communities. We stretch across Houston from the northwest to the south. Our 57 schools provide a complete range of learning environments from early childhood to International Baccalaureate and everything in between. Our many Magnet Adriana Tamez, Superintendent, Central Region - HISDschools enable students to focus on everything from the fine and performing arts to math, science and technology. With all the diversity we embrace we have created a community that is united in purpose – to offer the best possible learning opportunities to our students. Learning truly is central in the region.

The Central Region Web site is your Web site. You will find information pertaining to your Central Region schools, to educational news that is of importance to you, to events occurring in the Central Region and beyond. You will also find information on the numerous ways you can communicate with us.

I hope the Web site will trigger the occasional smile, thoughtful pause, or moment of quiet pride. I also hope you will let us know your thoughts, send us information you would like to see posted, and let us know how we can improve your Web site. I encourage you to become a frequent visitor to our Web site and an active member of the Central Region.
