The exhibit opening, held at the HISD HMW Educational Center at 3:15 p.m. on April 15th, included Board Trustee, Paula Harris as guest speaker, Dr. Garza cutting the ribbon, and students who talked about their work as school bands and choirs entertained.
Come by and view the displays that are located on all three floors of the HMW Educational Center.

That's right! Two life-size, milk-producing bovines created by children at the Ninfa R. Laurenzo Early Childhood Center in the East Region are temporarily taking shelter at the HMW Educational Center. The artwork was created as part of the children's Rodeo Day experience.
They will be on display for the Week of the Young Child Celebration. Click here for your Invitation

Mathematics K-5 Textbooks Adopted for 2008-2009 school year
books.bmp (50390 bytes)The Board of Education approved new mathematics textbooks.
A group of 60 teachers from across the district participated in the textbook committee and spent hours reviewing, researching, and studying. A special thanks to those teachers.

This program makes it possible for students to earn credit and meet their physical education requirements through participation in private or commercially sponsored athletic/training programs.
