| Mathematics Textbook Adoption |
We are pleased to announce that the HISD Board of Education approved our 60 member teacher committee's recommendation of the Scott Foresman/Pearson enVision MATH Texas as the adopted K-5 mathematics textbook for implementation in school year 2008-2009.
This strongly aligned and rigorous TEKS-based material will be integrated into the Horizontal Alignment Planning Guides (HAPGs) along with the identified Power Objectives as an important teaching and learning resource. Additionally, we will be working to develop a strong professional development plan in partnership with Professional Development Services to support the implementation of our district curriculum and this newly adopted textbook resource. In October, 2007 each campus received samples of this textbook series in English and Spanish.
