Science Fair - References

This is a list of books, journal and magazine articles, pamphlets, and other communication sources that you may have used for researching your topic and writing your paper. To be eligible to participate in the SEFH, students must cite at least 3 "hard sources" (these include, books, journals [including electronic journals], and magazines). Encyclopedias, Internet sites, and CD-ROMS, etc., are not considered "hard sources" but can be used as fourth, fifth, etc. sources. When writing your bibliography follow the formats below.

A Book with one Author
Author's Last name, first initial. (Date of publication). Title of book. Place where published: Publisher.

A Magazine Article
Author's Last name, first initial. (Date of publication). Title of article. Name of magazine , volume, Issue Number, page number(s).

Government Publications
Name of the government agency. (Date of publication). Title of publication. Location of agency.

A Reference Book on CD-ROM
Source or author(s). Title of publication. (Date of publication). Place where produced: Producer.

Elements of on-line Entry (No print version)
Author's Last name, first initial. (Date of publication). Title. Volume number, Issue number or other identifying number, Number of pages or paragraphs if given/or n.pag. On-line: Name of computer network. Date of access. If available, specify the electronic address. (Note: If certain items do not apply or are not available, simply skip and go on to the next entry.)

Note: n.pag. stands for no pagination.

Article in an Electronic Journal (No print version)
Author's Last name, first initial. (Date of publication). Title of article. Title of the electronic journal , volume, Issue number, Number of pages or paragraphs. Publication medium. Name of computer network. Date of access. WWW. Electronic address.

Electronic File on the World Wide Web (No print version)
