Marcile Hollingsworth Nature Center |
 |
The Marcile Hollingsworth Nature
Center was dedicated on October 15, 2001. It is located at 13250 Summit Ridge.
The center, in cooperation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services and Texas Parks and
Wildlife, works to establish a pond, wild life management area, and a butterfly and
wildflower garden. |
| The center will
continue to offer training and workshops in addition to providing HISD teachers with live
specimens to use in science experiments. More than 51 organisms such as microscopic algae,
bacteria, guppies, and a variety of plants are available.
|
|
| Teachers must complete a requisition
form for the
live specimens they will need for classroom or lab work. The Schoolyard Habitat
Requisition Form, new this year, will help schools maintain flourishing habitats. |
