Gilder Lehrman Summer History Seminars
The seminars are designed to strengthen participants' commitment to high quality history teaching. Public, private, and independent school teachers are eligible. These week-long seminars provide intellectual stimulation and a collaborative context for developing practical resources and strategies to take back to the classroom. Colonial Williamsburg Summer Teachers' Institute - Scholarships

  • Herzstein Foundation Grants for HISD Elementary Teachers (3 places):
    July 16-23, 2008. Three Houston ISD elementary school teachers will travel to Williamsburg, Virginia for an all-expense-paid, one-week seminar in Colonial American history conducted by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and funded by the Herzstein Foundation.   • Aldredge Scholarships for Houston-Area Teachers (4 places):
    Four Houston-area teachers will travel to Williamsburg, Virginia for an all-expense-paid, one-week seminar in Colonial American history conducted by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and funded by Aldredge Family Scholarships.  Two elementary places for July 16-23; one middle school place for July 9-16; and one high school place for June 25-July 2.  Applications are due March 3, 2008.  Download Aldredge application here.
